Angel Charity Highlight: Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation
How this charity is making education accessible in the Philippines
Angel Protocol is an innovative new tool allowing all charitable organizations to access the power of endowments.
By partnering with Angel Protocol, charities take a significant step towards financial freedom: a time when their operating expenses are covered by stable yields from their endowments and donations are used to drive expansion.
When charities own their own low-risk, high-yield endowment, their donors can now give once and have that donation continue giving year after year. “Give once, Give forever.”
If your charity would like to know more about how Angel Protocol can impact your mission, please email duffy@angelprotocol.io, connect with us on social media, or visit our website.
In this series, we will highlight Angel’s partner charities and their incredible teams and programs. All charities in this series have taken a revolutionary step toward sustainable giving; a direction we believe is the future of a better world.
Today, the spotlight is on the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation where we’ll get your questions answered by the charity’s own, Jay Jaboneta, about how you can make a difference.
What is Yellow Boat?
The Philippines is a country made up of over 7,000 islands in the western Pacific. As such, many young children often have to swim to neighboring islands to get to school. Besides the danger brought on by strong currents, the simple idea of going to school with a wet backpack and notebooks is enough to deter most students.
Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation works to improve children’s access to education. We think you’ll find the video below to be worth more than words can say.
So, you provide a way for children to safely get to school. What else?
Getting children to school safely is only the tip of the iceberg for Yellow Boat. They are now building classrooms and schools, dormitories that serve as halfway houses, childcare facilities, and other structures to ensure no child is left behind.
Not to mention, they distribute annual school supplies, organize healthy food programs for students, and make sure the kids get dental and medical attention when necessary.
Wow, you guys are busy. Can I see your annual reports?
Yellow Boat’s financial reports are not posted publicly for their volunteers’ safety and security as some of their communities are located in conflict areas. Donors may send their intent to donate and/or a request for a copy of their Financial Reports through chief.hopepaddler@yellowboat.org.
What will my contribution provide to the children?
Yellow Boat would like you to know that every donation has the potential to improve children’s education in the Philippines and better their lives. Below is a list of common expenses they’re always raising funds for.
Note: Because of the continued hardships and restrictions that COVID-19 has brought, most classes are held online. For the time being, Yellow Boat has shifted its efforts toward the provision of printers, computers, and mobile devices so that their adopted public school teachers and students can have the tools to continue their learning.
Where can I learn more about the problem?
